Text Box: How far in advance should I order my party cake?
We require a minimum of one week notice for party cakes. However, since we do not freeze our cakes and they are organic and custom we recommend ordering as soon as possible. Premium dates full up fast!

How much is a wedding cake?
Wedding cakes are unique to each event and priced according to design; therefore, it is difficult to place a general price on every cake.
Distinctive to The Icing, we include separately boxed honeymoon and anniversary cakes to ensure the enjoyment of your cake on your special day now, and on your first anniversary.

Is there an additional charge for any flavors?
No; all of our flavors are the same price for our custom cakes. Simple elegance cake and sheet cakes are limited in flavor, but custom cakes are inclusive.

I am on a budget. Can I still have The Icing create my wedding cake?
Yes. We offer Kitchen cakes which are the same delicious cake, but not decorated. Your display cake will serve 100 guests; the rest will be served the kitchen cakes. Since kitchen cakes are served at the same time as your centerpiece, your guests will never know the difference! Or you can always select one of our Simple Elegance cakes.

Is there an equipment deposit?
No; all of the supports within your cake and the base are disposable. There is nothing to return to The Icing, nor is it necessary to place a monetary deposit.

I have a friend who is also engaged. Can I refer her?
Yes, word of mouth is our only advertising! Plus, if your friend signs a wedding cake contract, you get a $25.00 gift certificate!!

Do you freeze your cakes?
No, we custom bake every cake.

Can I choose more than one flavor?
Yes, two flavors are included with your cake.

I have heard that fondant tastes bad. Is that true?
Inexpensive fondant does not taste good. The white chocolate fondant we use is made for us in New York and shipped directly to The Icing.

What happens at a consultation?
You will get to sample yummy cake! We will also discuss design, flavors and cost. If you decide to complete a contract, a $100 deposit is due. Nothing else is finalized (head count, flavors or design) until one month before your wedding.

How can I sample more flavors?
Brides who have completed a contract can purchase up to 4 bridal sample cakes (6 inch, undecorated cakes) in the flavors of their choice.

How do reserve my date?
A contract & deposit are necessary to reserve your date. The $100 deposit is applied toward the final cost of your cake.

What if I am unsure of the details?
You can change anything about your cake– flavors, design and ahead count, up to one month before your wedding. The contract reserves your date. Since The Icing limits how many wedding cakes are done in a weekend, we do book up fairly quickly.
